It’s a cat’s tongue!

Those white spiny structures are called barbs that point towards the back of the mouth. They make the surface of the tongue feel rough to touch and they help the cat to groom its fur and hold on to prey.

You get bonus points if you noticed that this cat has some calculus (dental tartar) on its upper teeth!
